An outdoor area was used for this trial at Breckinhill.

The area included a old building wall with nooks and crannies suitable for hides. Then across a short path to tables and chairs followed by two steps to a small paved patio area of which I chose to use only two sides. 

Each team handled the search the same by dividing it into the three distinct search areas.

The first hide was along the wall, a crevice that lent itself nicely to the hide.

The second hide was on the second step that led to the second patio.

Only one team managed to find both hides, while other teams got one or no hides.

However, all teams worked extremely hard, given that it was a warm evening and quite a few of the dogs struggled with the heat. This was evident in their searching as they were panting rather than sniffing.

This was the first outdoor trial for the teams which lead to many new challenges like birds, hedges, environmental smells, children playing in the distance all spring to mind.

Some excellent searching/handling was evidenced and all teams had a plan in their head before starting.

An enjoyable evening was had and I hope all teams went home with positive feedback, well done everyone!
