Bronze Scent Ops Trial – Saturday 4 July

On Saturday 4 July, York Mantrailing & Scent Detection hosted a Bronze Scent Ops Trial at The Church of the Holy Redeemer in York.

The search area was set within the main church, starting at the rear pews and extending across several rows towards the front, including the central aisle. 

The first hide was positioned at the front corner of the rear pew and was quickly located by every dog. The second hide was placed in the diagonally opposite corner of the search area, concealed between two cushion kneelers on the back of the front pew. Three dogs successfully located and gave a clear indication on this hide, other dogs showed recognition of the target odour but were unable to pinpoint the source before running out of time. 

The standard of searching throughout the trial was excellent, and the venue really put both dogs and handlers to the test. It was fantastic to see some great team work. Big well done to all of the teams who took part.
