Bronze 1

The area started in a carpeted children’s play area with children’s tables, chairs, toys and books as well as other items. Then along an isle to the font area and then down the left side of the church with different items, rows of chairs leading to a prayer table covered with a cloth and a wooden kneeling unit behind.

The first hide was located on the bottom of a draw in a children’s toy storage unit in the play area. Dogs hit odour and with a little problem solving worked this in well.

The second hide was behind the prayer table on the bottom on the kneeling unit. Dogs again picked up odour well and worked into source.

Bronze 2

The area started at the back of the church in a carpeted area with children’s tables, chairs, toys and books as well as other items. This led to another small storage area at the back of the church, then down the right side of the church along the end of the pews and pillars. The area then opened to a sofa area with tables and items and back up to a wooden storage unit with tables and chairs adjacent to it.

The first hide was on the left of the children’s area on the bottom of stacked chairs. Dogs had to check into the area properly to pick up odour. Great team work was shown here to successfully hit odour and work in.

The second hide was in a gap half way along the wooden storage unit. Dogs picked up odour either on the chairs opposite or on a gap along the storage unit. It was lovely to see some independent problem solving by the dogs to reach source.

The standard was really high today and it was great to see some new teams join our ScentOps trial too! Congratulations everyone!
