Nosework Dogs

Nosework Dogs held a bronze ScentOps today we had 10 dogs competing in a search in an industrial storage area. 

8 out of the 10 dogs found both hides. 

The results were

1st Bev & Mortimer 100 points

2nd Marney & Chutney 99 points

3rd Rosie & Tide 98 points

4th Kate & Pip 98 points

5th Peter & Minnie 96 points

6th Barbara & Prue 95 points

The 1st hide was right at the start of the search and a lot of the dogs rushed past this, handlers who ensured the dog covered this early area got a nice early find and a boost of confidence. This find took a bit of problem solving and it was nice to see the dogs working to source. Searching of the forklift and the small "corridor" was generally good but again some dogs rushed right to the end of the search before settling. The second hide on the base of a door hinge behaved very nicely and all the dogs got this. Although some ran through to the adjoining stables before working back on to it. There was some licking and scratching of the hides but generally the standard of indication was high. Most teams showed a plan of search and many managed to stick to it.
