Search area comprised a large function room with the main floor area being clear but all the perimeter walls all had items of various shapes and sizes: 12/14 large folding tables which were folded and stacked against the walls, stacked chairs, sofa, pulpit, speakers, free standing display posters, cabinet( which was behind a display poster but easy to access).
There was a small hall area off this room which had 4 doors which were closed but still in play. The 5th door was open and it lead to the toilet.
The first hide was under the cabinet and the second hide to the back of the toilet.
All teams worked well and with great enthusiasm considering it was a warm afternoon. Most teams found both hides. The toilet area was the area that quite a few dogs gravitated to although it was at the furthest point in the whole search area. Some dogs were unsure of which side of the toilet the hide was on. However, both handlers and dogs took their time and worked out which side the odour was on…..well done, there was always the chance that people or dogs could have rushed this and caused a wrong indication.
The second hide was slightly more tricky but totally accessible to the dogs. It was lovely to watch the teams work this in to source.
On another note it was interesting to see that a lot of teams didn’t ‘work’ the whole function room even missing out a wall which did have tables to one end of it. Quite a few teams failed to search the hall area with the doors.
Overall this was a very enjoyable Bronze. Congratulations to all teams involved.
