Scent Ops Bronze Trial 24/3/25
What an excellent entry of dogs this evening, so grateful to everyone who travelled from far and wide to compete. The bronze area was part of a large equine feed warehouse, heavily distracting for any foodie dog, all of them coped extremely well and produced fantastic searches. Both hides were low, in the bottom of pallets or just above in the stack of bags. All the handlers covered the area in good time despite a few daunted faces at the start. Most dogs found both hides, and those that didn’t were unlucky, or got stuck on trying to get to source from above rather than from the side where the source was easily found. The teamwork scores for everyone were really high this evening, absolutely lovely to see so many great relationships and some masterclass handling going on. Keep up the great work everyone.

The search was held within the small shop of woodland storm, an outdoor clothing and gundog training equipment company. The hide was located on the front of the desk and despite everyone best efforts not one dog worked the hide to an indication. Most dogs recognised the odour but struggled to work it to source. A few dogs got distracted buy the environment but handlers did a good job of helping their dogs continue to search on. It was also lovely to see some new teams that showed a lot of promise.
