On the evening of the 20th May, Sherlock Hounds hosted a Scent Ops Bronze trial. The area to be searched was a stable yard with an L-shaped block of stables down the right side and along the bottom a wall on the left side running the whole way down to a covered gap before the stables. The front of the yard is post and railed with a gate which was the starting gate. There was a an open stable with a wheelbarrow and various other bits of horsey equipment plus two head collars hanging from a window grill. The first hide was on one of the head collars. This was the easier of the two hides but did catch one or two handlers out as their dogs were interested in the wheel barrow and they called Alert too soon. The second hide was in a hose fitting which was hanging over a hook above and to the right of a tap on the wall side just before the covered gap. The wind caught a few of the more inexperienced people out as the odour was being blown into the covered gap and around a couple of buckets. The dogs that found the hide were the ones that were given time to solve the puzzle and work their way to the hose.
